The brand
Paris rock codes softened in cashmere
Zadig & Voltaire began in Paris in 1997, when Thierry Gillier, grandson of a Lacoste co-founder, founded a label with a sharper idea of French dressing. Instead of neat preppy codes, the brand leaned into the undone side of Paris.
Its house language is rock-and-roll: skulls, wings, washed leather and cashmere worn soft rather than precious. The Kate bag was developed with Kate Moss, and in 2017 Bella Hadid became the face of the brand, placing that same attitude in front of a wider fashion audience.
