From sweat-soaked shirts to performance layers
Under Armour began on 25 September 1996, when Kevin Plank, a university football player, built the company around a shirt that would not hold sweat. The idea was not a lifestyle logo first; it was a training problem solved from the skin out.
The brand grew by making performance fabric easy to understand: HeatGear for hot sessions, ColdGear for colder training, and layers that stay closer to the body while you move. Its first television campaign came in 2003, the company listed on NASDAQ in 2005, and Curry Brand launched with Stephen Curry in 2020.
