The brand
From Arezzo to occasionwear for children
Monnalisa began in 1968 in Arezzo, Tuscany, when Piero Iacomoni founded a childrenswear house with a clearly Italian idea of dressing up. In 1975, Barbara Bertocci joined, and the brand appeared at Pitti Bimbo for the first time.
The name became distinct because it treats children’s clothes as a wardrobe, not as smaller copies of adult pieces. Party dresses, tulle skirts, faux-fur and wool coats, printed sweatshirts and baby sets all sit inside a range that dresses children from 0 to 16 and sells in more than 60 countries.
In Tbilisi, that means the Monnalisa outlet is worth visiting for categories rather than for one promised dress, coat or size. Deliveries are made from previous-season and outlet-specific stock, so colours, ages and sizes change every time the rail is refreshed.
