From Bologna leather goods to Furla bags
Furla began in Bologna in 1927, when Aldo Furlanetto founded the house that would carry his family name. The first Furla store opened in Bologna in 1955, giving the brand a fixed place for leather goods rather than only a trade route.
The turn toward bags became clearer in the 1970s, when the founder's children joined the business and the first bag collection was released. That history still matters when you handle a Furla piece: the shape, clasp, strap and small leather finish usually do more work than visible decoration.
