From New York Coats to CK One
Calvin Klein began in New York in 1968, when Calvin Klein and Barry Schwartz founded the label with a coat collection. That start still matters: the brand built its name on sharp proportion, restrained colour and clothes that looked edited rather than decorated.
In 1978, Calvin Klein Jeans helped turn denim into a designer product. In 1982, the men’s underwear line made the waistband logo visible, and in 1994 CK One treated fragrance as something men and women could share.
